Emily Kraszyk

Emily Kraszyk

Farmhouse Chicago Chef

Emily Kraszyk’s fondness for fresh local ingredients and creative character make her perfectly suited for Farmhouse Tavern. Kraszyk grew up in a very food and family focused environment where she learned to appreciate food and realize the joy it can bring. Kraszyk says her earliest memories are of standing next to her great grandmother cooking, tasting, asking questions, and learning. Always gravitating to what was cooking, Kraszyk was a young chef in the making, lightheartedly referred to as “chef of the future” by family.

Kraszyk was at Indiana University when she realized that she belonged in an industry where she could be creative, and build from the ground up. She moved to Chicago to pursue her chef career, landing her first professional position at Art Smith’s Table Fifty-Two, under the direct guidance of Rey Villalobos. From there, she spent a lot of time staging throughout Chicago, and working in Michelin rated restaurants. It was in September 2013 when Kraszyk joined the team at Farmhouse Chicago, where she now holds the Executive Chef position.

At Farmhouse Kraszyk has able to truly hone her style and technique, while blossoming into the chef she is today. Kraszyk has a lot of respect for local, pure ingredients, preferring to maintain the integrity while showcasing and highlighting their given flavors. It’s the love of the job, and the family environment that has allowed Kraszyk to truly embrace Farmhouse and it’s values, all while making the menu her very own.

Sam is no stranger to this wonderful world of hospitality we live in! He started as a bar manager at John Evans Steak House and at the tender age of 23 was promoted to General Manager. When the owner came to Sam to let him know that he was retiring, Sam jumped at the opportunity to own and run his own restaurant and did so for 2 very strong years. After Taking some time off he became AGM at Socca in Wrigleyville for two years and then joined us a waiter at Farmhouse. He was one of our best and we convinced him to take the helm and he has been helming it very well ever since. Sam lives in lakeview and enjoys hanging out at Farm Bar.
